Will Varley & Dave Hause - Australian Tour 2027
The Hamilton Station Hotel (Islington, NSW)
Thursday, 18 February 2027 8:00 pm
Two of the finest songwriters from either side of the Atlantic will hit the road in Australia together
this February, for eight shows sure to be masterclasses in songwriting and storytelling.
After his hugely successful tour with Beans on Toast in January 2026, Will Varley returns to Australia
for a second time, joined by his pal Dave Hause for a very special double headline tour.
When the late, great Phil May of The Pretty Things, cited as a major influence by David Bowie and
Jimi Hendrix, began curating songs for the band’s final studio album, alongside covers of Muddy
Waters, Sheryl Crow and Robert Johnson, he included a song by British singer-songwriter Will Varley.
Along with a growing army of followers around the world, May felt the sheer depth to Will’s songs,
something that has always set him apart and propelled his music far and wide. Rich, lyrical tales that
speak of universal truths, hard touring, and the rebuilding of minds.
Will’s seventh studio album, Machines Will Never Learn to Make Mistakes Like Me, was released in
2025 and reached No. 4 on the UK Americana Albums Chart. Featuring collaborations with the likes
of Bastille and Billy Bragg, Rolling Stone described the record as “beautiful songs for difficult times”,
while Americana UK called it “a high-class album from a singer-songwriter at the peak of his craft.”
Nearly 30 years into his career,
Dave Hause is a Philadelphia-bred singer-songwriter whose work
blends punk rock, Americana, folk and heartland rock. A former member of punk band The Loved
Ones, Hause has forged an acclaimed solo career on melodic, anthemic and deeply honest
songwriting. He has shared the stage with artists including The Gaslight Anthem, Social Distortion,
Alkaline Trio and The Avett Brothers. Rolling Stone called Hause an expert at blending “introspective,
often edgy, Americana lyricism with the most irresistible of pop-rock hooks.”
Hause’s songs have always been rooted in tangible reality, of emotion, of environment, of
circumstance. Since releasing his debut album, Resolutions, in 2011, the Philadelphia-born
songwriter has poured his whole heart, soul and life into his music. His latest studio record, ...and
The Mermaid, finds him revisiting the urgency and raw energy of his punk roots, backed by his
occasional band, The Mermaid.
Both artists have toured relentlessly over the past few years, building fiercely loyal audiences and
becoming understated icons of the alternative folk, punk and Americana canon. This double
headline tour brings the two songwriters together for the first time. A rare chance to catch these
much-loved artists on the same bill, for what promise to be truly unforgettable nights of music.
