NEW YEAR, NEW YOU!
We've scowered New South Wales for some killer acts and are dragging along Private Wives from Wollongong and Great Job! from Sydney. As always, we've loaded it with local legends Stagger, Two Knives, and Trophy Wyfe
Private Wives are an all girl punk trio, forming just before the constraints of lockdown in sunny Wollongong. Hard and angry riffs, screaming group vocals and haunting words that makes you want to get down and dirty. With their goal to be a voice for young women like themselves, Private Wives don’t leave out any important info. Born into Wollongong’s punk scene post Rad Bar, Private Wives have been keeping busy, playing with the likes of grunge legends Tumbleweed, Tasmanian icons A Swayze and the Ghosts, hitting the stage for King St Carnival with Australian exports C.O.F.F.I.N., getting rotation on radio stations like FBi Radio, 2ser, 2RRR and more around the country, and recently signing with local record label Farmer & the Owl.
Skirting the line between Indie Rock and Emo Punk, Great Job! make music that can be both hilarious and heartbreaking as they bring the next wave of Emo Revival to Australia. Queer fronted and DIY backed, Great Job! have packed basements and shared huge stages with artists such as The Smith Street Band, Frank Turner (UK), and Tiny Moving Parts (US) just to name a few.
