MUCHO SONAR - LAST SHOW
The Strike Outs, Maids Of Horror

We’re breaking up (sorta)
Hi folks,
Some news from the Mucho camp.
Our upcoming show at the Hamilton Station Hotel on February the 8th will be our last show for the foreseeable future. We’re going on an indefinite hiatus. We might be back, we might not…
It’s been a strange few years for us at Mucho Sonar. For those who don’t know, the reason we recorded and released a live album so we would have a document of the lineup we started this band with as our lead guitar player, Ben Kelly is unable to play live anymore due to a totally fucking horrible degenerative autoimmune condition.
As we started this band out of the ashes of previous bands we had played in and what we learned from those bands, the point of Mucho Sonar was to be whatever noise came out of the 6 of us, that we wrote together. A democracy. Not trying to be anything specific. Each member adding their own uniqueness to the sound of the band, sadly with Ben’s condition and other members having other commitments which makes maintaining what the band is and should be more difficult.
So we’re calling it a day, for now. We might come back, we might not. But we’re leaving the door open in case we decide it’s appropriate. As with everything in this band, if we do it will be on our terms.
We couldn’t be prouder of the records we’ve made and the shows we’ve played. We’re proud of the fact that no matter where we played, who we played with, how unable we were to fit on the stage (hi Phoenix Bar, Canberra) or how many people were in the audience, that you could always guarantee a great show from us, with us giving our entire all every single fkn show.
We’re also proud of the sound we have created between the 6 of us.
Our live record is a testament to what people all over the country got to see and hear when we were playing and if that’s the last thing we release, it’s one helluva final statement if I do say so myself.
We would like to thank Chunk Williams for his years of hard work with the band. We would also like to thank Troy Vod from the Neptune Power Federation and Odin Wolf from Starcrazy for helping us fill Ben’s very large shoes on this latest tour. Being that he's a total fkn virtuoso, trying to do Ben’s guitar stuff is not an easy task and takes a lot of work to learn his parts so we REALLY appreciate it.
We would also like to thank all the bands we have toured with, radio stations who supported us (thanks Chris Converse and 4zzz especially!), venues who’ve had us and most of all, the people who’ve come to our shows, bought merch and sang their hearts out.
So, come celebrate our band with us at the Hamilton Station Hotel on Saturday February 8th supported by the Strikeouts and Maids of Horror and grab yourself one of the remaining vinyl copies of our live record so you got something to remember us by.
Smell ya later
